I'm not very good at posting pictures in a timely manner. Here is a picture of our little family before it became four. Gotta get our family picture updated soon! We need our little Chasey in our family photos.

Two nights ago, I had a nasty fall. In the middle of the night, I heard Chase crying. It wasn't a gradual cry, but an all- of- a- sudden shriek, like he had fallen or was getting kidnapped. In my sleeping state, I frantically ran to him as fast as my short dah-lee (legs) would let me and I totally fell! I didn't even trip on anything. I think I just was trying to run so fast that I lost my balance. So anyways, I have this crazy round carpet burn on my left leg. AND, get this- even my left ARM hurts! I'm not joking here. My left arm feels all bruised up.

I'm not used to getting hurt. First of all, I am the biggest chicken I know! I'm not proud of this, but it's the truth. So, I am the girl who is afraid of being eaten by sharks when I go to the beach so I sit on the sand while everyone else is frolicking in the water (actually, maybe it's because I'm embarrassed of my scary white cottage cheese thighs...hmmm....) I am the girl who snowboards at a snails pace because I don't want to lose control and break my face (I would see like the same toddler go past me like three times while I go from the top to the bottom of the little wimpy beginners' hill that I'm on. I digress.) Anyways, so because I am such a scaredy cat, I don't get hurt often at all! So, this carpet burn is KILLING me! I don't know, I guess that's why it's called a carpet burn, but it seriously burns. And it looks so gross too. The top layer of my skin has been fillet exposing raw pink moist flesh...kind of looks like sashimi...gross! (hope you don't think of me next time you're eating sushi! hehe. I'm so mean!)

Well, at one point when I started writing, there was some sort of point to all this. Something about being a mother and having maternal instinct or another or doing anything to save your baby (even running like a loony in the dark), but I forget what the point was now.

Oh, if you were curious... Chasey was fine! Little boogar wasn't even crying when I got to him. Actually Jason beat me to him and laughed his ass off when I fell and said something like, "Geez.." Not even a "Are you OK?! All I get is laughs. So sad.

Well, I'm turning 30 this week. Kind of crazy. Jason and I went out alone tonight and I said, "Jason, I'm old. In 10 years, I'm going to be 40." Jason was so happy and proud to know that his wife can do easy math! He said, "And 20 years, you'll be 50." yah...

I think 30's will be great. The kids will be growing but won't be too old and still love to get hugs from me. I won't be too old so I won't need any surgical procedures yet (haha). I am looking forward to my 30's.

Hope y'all have a happy Monday!

Sometimes I feel bad for Chase because I dress him so poorly! With Tyler, being the first born, he was like my little Ken doll and I would dress him up in Sunday best to go pick up the mail! Ok, I'm exaggerating here, but it was so much fun shopping for him and seeing him all dressed up in cute outfits. But, with Chase, it's all about practicality and comfort. And what is most practical and comfortable for an infant? One piece pajamas with footsies! I have no energy to be dealing with falling socks (cause dang things never stay on!) or pants that ride up to the knees or shirts that ride up to the armpits! I have tons of Tyler's old clothes that Chase has never touched. One day, Chase will ask me why he was always in pajamas as a child. haha. Maybe when he gets a bit older, pj's will be a little tacky to wear outside the house...but for now, that's all this old woman has energy for! :)

You know what commercial jiggle I like to sing once in awhile? Remember "Like Mike?" The old school Gatorade commercials with Michael Jordan? You know it's a catchy jiggle if I'm still singing it like 10 years later. Anyways, I was singing it and Tyler asked me what I was singing, so I went online and I found it on youtube. It is so upbeat and lively, and I love the kids' voices in the background. For your listening pleasure...here is the commmercial!

First off, I have to say hi to Gina! Thanks so much for making my days more exciting! I love seeing your beautiful face when I turn on my computer and when I peruse magazines at Borders. I hope to see you soon.

Today, we had "family haircut day!" What is is about cutting split ends off your hair that makes you feel so light and airy? Well, I had about three inches cut and I feel five pounds lighter. Which makes me wonder why I don't just shave my whole head so I could completely get rid of this permanent bloated feeling that I have.

So Tyler is nearly potty trained (during the day at least), and I wanted to share how much he makes me laugh in the bathroom. Here are some of the comments he has made:
"Mommy, it looks like a hot dog."
"It looks like a big hot dog and a small hot dog."
"It looks like a fish. I see the face and tail."
"It looks like a noodle. Enough enough pasta pot (quoting the book Strega Nona)."
"It looks like tape."
"Mommy, it is two colors. It is tie dye."
"Yes, it is coming! I knew I could do it! (while pumping his arms in victory)"
"Mommy, I had to pee, but why is poo coming out? That's weird."

Tyler also makes me laugh when he talks for Chase. For example, I will say, "Who made this mess?" and he will say, "Chasey said he did it." Sometimes, I will hold family meetings with the boys and we will discuss important issues such as appropriate and inappropriate things to do when Mommy is on the phone. At the end of my lecture, I turn to Chase and ask, "Now Chase, do you understand what I am saying? I want my boys to be good boys and have manners. Will you be patient when Mommy is on the phone?" and Tyler will yell, "He says no, Mommy." And then I ask Tyler the same thing, he says, "Yes, I will" like a little angel.

Tyler saw me putting in my nursing pads (for those of you without children- pads you put in your bra when you are breastfeeding), and he said, "Mommy, you put bandaids on your boobies every day!"

I should be sleeping but I can't fall asleep for some reason. I was thinking about some things that I wish I had known before and thought I would share.

- Did you know that Bed, Bath, and Beyond accepts expired coupons, and coupons for Linens and Things (even if those are expired!) and also, you can use as many as you have at one time? For example, we went last week and bought 10 items. I used 10 coupons for one transaction- 5 for Bed, Bath, and Beyond and 5 for Linens and Things. I wish I had known this earlier because I threw away a lot of expired coupons!

- I started to put in an egg when I make mac and cheese for Tyler. It makes me feel better knowing that he is getting extra protein and omega 3's. I wish I had done this earlier. I actually think it tastes better.

- I wish I didn't waste money buying an expensive wooden step stool for Tyler. It is too heavy for him to carry! Now that he is toilet trained, I would like him to be able to move the stool from the sink to the toilet and back by himself without calling me into the bathroom every time he has to go. Now, I have to get a cheapy plastic one that he can carry easily. What a waste of money!

- On toilet training, I wish I didn't buy any size 2's or 3's underwear for Tyler. When you are toilet training your child, remember that your little one should be able to pull down and up their underwear easily and quickly...hence, the bigger the size, the better. We got Tyler size 4 recently and they are the perfect size for him. He barely used the 2's and 3's because they were too tight and he needed my help to pull them down.

- Have you heard of the book Deceptively Delicious? This book tells you to sneak in veggies into your child's food by pureeing vegetables and then putting them into foods that they will eat. I recently bought some premade organic baby food and now I put some of that in Tyler's food. It cuts out that extra step of making it and it makes me feel better that he is getting some peas and green beans in his diet. I don't know how long I will do this but I like the idea for now!

Here is my "mommy" post to moms out there!

This morning I told Tyler that he hurt my feelings. He looked up and down my body and asked, "Mommy, where are your feelings?"

Chase is rolling around now and I'm a proud mama! :)

It's getting harder and harder to post in here. I remember before I had Chase, I was writing in here daily. Now, I have both boys with me at home and I'm lucky if I get a chance to shower! :) Some pics of my growing boys!

Christmas gathering with cousins Mason and Ethan.

Taken this afternoon. Some tummy time for Chase.

Most people say that Chase looks more like me. What cha think?

Hope you have a happy Monday!
