Spaz Attack

Thoughts from a big spaz who has lots to spaz about.

Much to Jason's disbelief and horror, I ordered an old Olsen twins DVD, To Grandmothers House We Go, for Tyler. Well, I tell Jason, get back our cable and I won't have go to these lengths to entertain our poor child. Anyways, what two lines did he immediately pick up after the fist viewing? "You're getting on my nerves!" and "You'll be sorry." Why do children learn the bad stuff first?

It's snot city here at our house. Both the boys are sick. What do you do when your kids get sick? Keep them from school and cry your eyeballs out. :) We're missing out in our music class today too. It's not THAT bad, but I was a teacher before and I hated seeing sick kids out and about, getting everyone else sick.

Tyler was just in the bathroom and when I went in to check up on him, he was praying on the toilet! I asked him to say his prayer out loud and he said, "Dear God, please protect me when the snow comes down and when the lights turn on. Amen." Snow comes down?! haha... He has never even seen snow! He cracks me up!

Tyler goes to a Christian preschool and he comes home singing the most adorable praise songs. One of my favorite lines from a song he sings is "I thank you God for making me me!" Can you imagine a bunch of preschoolers saying that? It is absolutely precious.

ok, back to wiping snot and butts! Oh, the good life!

My very talented friend RJ is an artist and she is selling her items at www.baileydoesntbark.etsy.com. Please check it out. She will personalize any notepads, card, invitation, magnet, t-shurt, mugs, cups, plates, and mirrors. I think it is way cool!

Congrats to Jeannie and Brian on the BIG news... so excited for you guys!

Ok, so these pictures are really old, but I'm just posting anything so I don't lose you guys with the lack of pics on this site! haha....

Doesn't Chase look miserable in this picture? What parents do!

Tyler picked out this James the Train costume...he still like to wear it sometimes around the house and pretends to be a train.

oh, we recently buzzed Tyler and Chase's hair and they look more like twins! Today I heard, "They look exactly alike!" and "They are like twins, expect for the two year age gap!" haha.

People, I know this site is boring without pictures! I can't get to my recent pictures right now...long story...can't even explain it! Well, maybe until I get things fixed, I'll post some pictures from the past.

Chase with Jenn in December.

Tyler with Jenn, in line to go on a train.

"We were hoping that posting these pictures with Jenn would bring a smile to her face. Mommy says that Jenn is really smart and still goes to school. Imagine that?! We hope to see her again soon! She'll be so amazed at how much we've grown!"

Chase with Susan and Christine in November.

"Christine and Susan are mommy's friends from high school. Actually, they all met when they were 13 years old...they were so young then! Mommy says she has many fond memories with them."

Yay!!! Jason found my keys the next morning... right away! I was worried all night and even prayed about it. Then, Jason woke up the following morning and found it in less than five minutes. He said I placed it in Tyler's old bassinet. I kind of feel bad about this, but the first words out of my mouth when he brought me my keys were "Did you hide it from me last night?" How rude of me! Here he is, saving my worried ass, and I accuse him of hiding the keys! Well, at least Jason had a sense of humor about it.

Still no TV. Actually, the first few nights were tough, but now I'm kind of liking it! I get more done around the house, I'm reading more and I've been sleeping earlier...all good things. I'm doing fine, but I can't believe that Jason isn't pulling out his hair without TV. He is a big sports man and he used to love watching espn before going to bed. Right now, he is just laying on the couch like a big bump on a log. I know he's not sleeping because he is moving too much. Wonder what's he is thinking to himself: Why didn't I just pay the bill? Why didn't I just listen to my smart wife? Lastly, and this is the big one: Why am I so stubborn?

TV still down which means...more posts!

Today, Jason and I totally organized our garage. Ok, so it was more me just standing there and Jason moving big boxes around with sweat dripping from his back...oh so sexy! AND, in the midst of all this, I lost my keys. Sometime during our organizing frenzy, I took some things into my car and I must have placed the keys somewhere in the garage when I returned. Smart, I know! I've looked around and I still haven't found them which means that they must be hidden deep inside one of the many boxes we were opening and rearranging. OH Gosh! That means that I will have to WASTE SO MUCH TIME looking for it tomorrow! And we have people coming over tomorrow and I was suppose to go to the market and actually cook! Jason said that I shouldn't worry about that because we could always just order something to go and that finding my key was more important. Dang! I feel like, with gas prices being so high, I should have a home cooked meal ready for people driving from far away. Please God help me find my keys tomorrow and QUICK!

Tyler said something funny today. He was watching Teletubbies on DVD (By far, the MOST disturbing program for kids, wouldn't you say?) and he said that the baby was the "Damn It Baby." Jason and I were like, "What? What did you just say?" He said it again so calmly, "Damn It Baby." And then when we asked why, he said it was because he didn't like the baby. So I guess he figured that "Damn it" is something you say when you don't like something. Ha ha! I have no idea where he learned that because Jason and I don't say it! I say "Darn it" sometimes, but never "Damn it!" Anways, it's funny how kids put two and two together.

Here is our current weekly schedule so Tyler can see what he did when he was 37 months old.

Things not on a regular schedule but we usually do sometime during the week: go swimming, go the the library, go to the park, visit with Auntie Claudia and cousin Katie, grandma and grandpa Kim come and sleep over one night a week. Other than that, our time is spent at home, playing, napping, eating, cleaning up and washing up! And I try to read to Tyler as much as possible throughout the day and before he goes to bed.

I let Tyler watch TV for about 30 minutes a day- usually, it's Calliou on PBS...I think it's the perfect show for 3 year olds! (Well, that was when we had cable.) When Tyler is at school, I try to go grocery shopping with Chase. On the weekdays when Jason comes home early (around 3:00) we try to go to Disneyland.

Well, here is the answer to the question, "What do you do as a stay at home mom?!" Sometimes when both boys want my attention, things get a bit hairy, but most of the time, it is really fun and they make me laugh. I love watching my boys grow!

A couple of nights ago, Tyler woke up in the middle of the night crying and screaming, "Mommy, get on the train!" I guess he even dreams about trains. The boy is obsessed.

Yesterday morning, Tyler woke up and heard the garage door closing. He asked, "Mommy, what is that noise?" I told him that daddy was going to work. He then blew some kisses into the air and hugged himself. When I asked him what he was doing, he replied, "I'm giving daddy kisses and hugs." Ahh, too cute!

Yesterday night, Jason brought home a gift that a patient had given him. Tyler quickly grabbed the tin container out of his hands, opened the lid and exclaimed, "Oooooooh, napkins!" like it was the best gift ever! He didn't realize that there were cookies underneath the plain white napkins! Jason and I had a good laugh.

Yesterday, Tyler had a really hard time going to school. He kept crying and saying, "I really want to go home." Of course, it broke my heart to leave him there but I knew that I had to...otherwise, he would cry everyday! Anyways, when I picked him up at the end, he didn't give me the usual hug and kiss. When I asked him where my hug and kiss was, he said, "No, because I don't like you." This is not the first time he has said this to me and I'm sure not the last. Even things like this make me smile because it reminds me how cute children are...just saying how they feel at the moment.

This afternoon, while Tyler was playing with his toys and I was on the computer, he said, "Mommy?" After I asked him what he wanted, he said, "I love you." It was so out of the blue and caught me off guard. He went right back to playing but I just stared at him awhile and soaked in the moment.

Yesterday, I was looking through an old Parents magazine and saw a picture of an infant sucking on his toes. It's such a cute sight to see...a baby sucking on his toes. Anyways, then it dawned on me that I have NEVER seen Tyler or Chase do this. So, I actually laid Chase on the ground and tried to lift his toes to his mouth and his fat toes couldn't reach his mouth because of his fat tummy! OH! That is why I had never seen Tyler and Chase do this! Cause by ALL accounts, I just have the fattest babies around. Chase is now 8 months old, but at 7 months, he was weighing a good and heavy 23 pounds! Tyler was the same way. Crazy, right?

Speaking of being overweight. I totally understand how overweight people feel. Let me explain. I am a mom of an overweight child. (I'm speaking of Chase here. Tyler, thank God, is normal now.) I get stares. I get chuckles. I see people elbowing each other as they walk past us. I get "oh my god"s! I get "Wow...he sure is malnourished!" (Oh, that is so funny. yuh ka, yuh ka!) And sometimes, I feel kind of self conscious! Like, do they think I just sit at home and stuff my child?

This is totally not related, but just a random thought. Don't ever go shopping at Costco when you have PMS. Or, I will rephrase that: Don't let PMS go shopping! I went last week (The day before I swore off Costco.) and I bought three different type of bread: Miltons multi grain, cinnamon swirl, and french bread AND three different "chocolate" items: chocolate covered almond clusters, Kirkland chocolate chips cookies (24 in a pack!) AND Hershey 100 calorie pack. GROSS! What am I going to do with all this!? I gross myself out. So, the moral of the story, don't let your PMS go shopping. And for some reason, when I write that, I visualize a big ol' tampon walking up and down the aisles of Costco pushing a cart. Sorry! Can't help where your mind takes you sometimes!

We don't have cable at the moment. I won't go into details why, but it has to do with a husband who calls "fraud!" and threatens to write nasty letters to the Better Business Bureau and anyone else who doesn't really care. I just say the jokes on you when the report your ass to a collections agency and your credit score goes down. But, he is a man of "principles" and I'm just stuck at home with an useless big fat TV. My pleas that start with, "But Tyler learns so much by watching Calliou on PBS!" continues to go in vain.

So, what are my days filled with? Hmmm, I took Tyler to Disneyland on Monday. We had fun and I was reaffirmed of the fact that Tyler is scared of everything! I am so glad we have an annual pass so I don't feel pressured to do everything in one day. We stayed for only about three hours and then Tyler told me he wanted to go home. I was like, "Good, I feel the wrinkles forming and sunspots coming to the surface of my skin," and we jetted out of there.

Today I took both boys to a music class. There are very few classes that I can sign both Tyler and Chase up for since the age gap. When I saw this one, I immediately signed them up. I've been to different "music" classes for kids, but I was impressed with this one because they had the children repeat sounds and stuff. Anyways, the parents are heavily encouraged to participate in the dancing, and I left feeling winded. One of these days, I swear, I'm going to get my fat body back into shape! One of these days, I tell ya!

Have a happy Wednesday or Thursday or whatever day you're reading this! Heck, have yourself a great week!
