Spaz Attack

Thoughts from a big spaz who has lots to spaz about.

Chase is so funny. Every time Tyler does something bad, he says, "Trouble maker" in his rugged, manly voice. It's funny, cause I've never said that too them and Jason swears he's never said it either. But it's so cute cause Chase knows exactly the right times to say it to Tyler and everyone always cracks up.

Another thing that Chase does is that he blames Tyler for everything! Today, we were furniture shopping (I know, again!), Chase fell and scraped his knee. If you ask him what happened, he always says, "Tyler did it," but Tyler wasn't even there with us when it happened! He says this all the time when we ask him, "Who did it?" or "What happened?" No matter what the situation, he always says, "Tyler did it."

Tyler says some funny things as well. A couple of weeks ago, I took the boys out for a walk around the new neighborhood. It was getting dark and Tyler said, "The owls are waking up. It's time for us to go home." Of course I knew what he was talking about but I asked him why he said that and he said, "Cause owls wake up at night and it's getting dark so we should go home." What four year old talks like that?

Also, during this same walk, he looked at a house and said, "We should have bought this house." I asked him why and he said, "Because the windows on the second floor have a small patio and that would would stop Chase from falling to the floor if he went out the window." AHH!! My cutie pie!

I mean, seriously, he says weird things like this all day long. We were getting shaved ice the other day and he said, "The owners must get a lot of customers in the summer." I asked him why and he said because people eat shaved ice when it's hot. It amazes me because I don't think I thought like that until I was at least ten! :)

Since Tyler knows that we're starting a school at our house soon, he is constantly on the lookout for things we might need at our school. He always tells me things like, "We need this and we need that because...." It cracks me up whenever he gets so into it. He loves looking at school supply catalogues and putting dog-ears on pages he thinks I should look at later. Oh, and the boys call me teacher whenever they think I am in "teaching" mode- like when we're doing an art project or reading a book or singing songs. I don't even ask them to call me teacher. They just do...even Chase!

Of course, everyone thinks their own children are amazing, but I think the world of my boys! :)

On the home front, things are not looking any better. We have so many things we still need to purchase and we're seriously going at a snail's pace. Jen said it best when she said that I need five whole days without the boys at home to get this house together. So true!! You know when you feel like you have so much to do, you don't know where to start? That's where I am right now. I'm surrounded by things I have organize, purchase, frame, put up, etc...the list seems endless. Oh, and these darn ants are not helping the situation! It's like, I can't sweep up every little crumb the kids drop!!!

Well, can't wait till the weekend cause it gives me hope that we'll get some things done with Jason at home! We really need to purchase a sofa/couch/or sectional this weekend. Sitting on beach chairs was kinda fun for a little while, but it's getting really old!

Hello! So I ended up not having internet for the past two days. We were "stealing" someone's wireless connection for a couple of days and then we couldn't get their signal anymore. (It was such a tease.) Anyways, we FINALLY got someone from Cox to come out yesterday and now we officially have our own internet access!! yay! I could jump for joy!

We are slowly getting more and more comfortable in our new house. I think once we get some dang furniture and decorate the place, it might feel more like a home. I really don't like furniture shopping at all and if we had the money, I would have an interior decorator do the whole house. Wouldn't it be great to walk into a model home every day? Every time I ask someone with a beautifully decorated home how they did it, they always answer that they copied the model home as much as they could. Too bad the model home for our house is long gone. Gosh, there must be some pictures of the model home somewhere in existence! I wish I could find them!

So it's almost August. I'm giving myself the month of August to reorganize my life and house. I need all the books off the floors and everything in its place by the end of August. I need to have a done family room so I could have people over. I need to organize the toys so we could have some play dates. I need to organize and get ready for the preschool. Every day, I feel like I taking some baby steps. Please God, let me feel settled into this house by September.

Oh my word... could I be really back online? Yes!! I'm happy to be back because FB just wasn't cutting it for me! So Jason ordered this "notebook" for me and I just got it today. I like that it is light and compact, but dude, this screen is tiny! Can't be good for my eyes. I can feel myself straining, but maybe that is because I've been online for the last hour getting my internet "fix." (can't blame me. i haven't been online for the last two months or so, and the blackberry doesn't count.)

Oh, and before I forget. Does anyone out there have the book "Hi, Vodka, It's me, Chelsea" by Chelsea Handler? I joined this reading group and that is this month's selection. I know, what kind of book club have I joined to be reading this very highly intelligent book? haha. Trust me, I was surprised it wasn't something more like Pride and Prejudice, but then again, who am I kidding? Chelsea Handler is perfect for me!

So we've been in our new house for over two weeks now. We're still not done unpacking and organizing everything. Sometimes, I just feel so overwhelmed! I have so much to do, and seriously, it is hard to do ANYTHING with two young boys around. One is hitting the other, one thinks he is potty trained, refuses to wear diapers and pees on the floor, one is drawing with crayons on the tile, etc. Oh, and we don't have cable yet so I don't have the tv to babysit my kids while I do things either. I think I will have to find some temporary daycare for the month of August to take both the boys so I can get things done around here!

Tyler said something funny to me so I better write it in here before I forget it. I was ordering him around and asking him to do this and that. Finally, he said to me, "I'm sorry to say, but I'm still just a kid." haha. I was laughing at that one.

Chase is turning into my little man. He copies everything that Tyler does. I mean, EVERYTHING. In the last few days, he said two sentences. "I don't want it." and "I will get it." He is talking more, and I must say, I have done a fine job in turning him into a mama's boy.

In September, I'm going to pull Tyler out of his school and open up a little school here at my house. I've thought about this for a long time now (years actually) and I finally decided that it is time to just stop thinking about it and just do it. The more I think about it, the more excited I'm getting about it. I will dream up the ideal school that I wish I could have found for Tyler when I was working. It will be the perfect balance of being at a cozy home (there are so many life skills you could teach just by being in a home) and also getting the kiddos ready for kindergarten (I always thought that none of the preschools that Tyler went to ever challenged the kids enough). So if you know of anyone in the Irvine area who is looking for childcare, please give them my info. It will only be for children 2 and up (and potty trained). I will have a daily lesson plan with GOALS for each activity. My program will be highly focused on literacy and teaching higher levels of thinking. Since my boys will be in the "school," the parents can rest assure knowing that I want my own boys to learn and grow too so there won't be a moment of slacking off! Anyways, that's my plug for today. :) Please let the word out!
