Fourth of July came and went without much ado. Jason and Tyler went to the beach in the morning while I spent time with my mom. Later, we had a small b-b-que at home because Jason said, "It's fourth of July! We have to have a barbecue!" Funny guy.
This pregnancy is going at a snail's pace! I'm 32 weeks now so I have about 6 weeks until Chase is here. I think I will count down here to help me see the light at the end of the tunnel.
This morning I made Tyler french toast for breakfast. I put some syrup on the side of his plate. While he was eating, he yelled, "Look uhma, a horse!" At first I didn't know what he was talking about but he kept pointing at the syrup. When I looked closely, the syrup was shaped like a horse! I asked him where the legs were and he pointed them out and then said, "Face," while pointing at the face! I wanted to take a picture of it to show Jason later but, of course, no camera could be found. I just thought that was a funny thing for Tyler to see in his syrup!
Recently, Tyler has been sleeping with a stuffed animal, one that was given to me by a student. He never slept with one before so it's really cute for him to look for "uhma doggie" ("uhma doggie" because it came with a baby doggie) before he goes to sleep.
Another thing Tyler has been doing lately is asking, "Which one?" while holding two items in his hands. The funny thing about this is that he will not always give me the item that I picked! He will look down at the items and keep whichever item that he wants to have! And I will say, "Tyler, why do you give me a choice and then give me the one that I don't want?" He just gives me a rascal laugh.
Tyler has this bus that has a ghost on it and I tell him I am scared of it. This weekend, he was acting like a ghost and saying, "I want uhma!" I started screaming and guess what he said: "Stop screaming, uhma!" Jason was laughing his butt off!
Tyler acts like a baby sometimes. Maybe I shouldn't encourage him but it is so cute that I will entertain him for awhile. He will ask for a "baby bottle," start babbling, and go limp in my arms. Is that what he thinks babies do? While he is in baby mode, if he accidentally starts talking again, I will say, "Babies can't talk, Tyler" and he goes back to babbling.
Every day he comes home from school and asks, "Baby Kate here?"
There is a new book that someone sent over for Tyler. On one of the pages, there is a picture of a man reading a book, and in that book, there is a upside down picture of three little pigs. I turned the book over so he could see the three pigs and I asked him what story the man was reading. He looked at the picture carefully and said, "Pigs. Wolf (blowing motion). They run (with his arms in running motion)." He remembered the story of the Three Little Pigs!
When I first got pregnant and found out out due date was August 29th, I was so thrilled because I told myself that I would have all of July and August to be with Tyler, go places with him, and really hang out before a new baby enters the picture. I had this list of things in my mind: miniature golf, boat riding at Claud's place, art classes, camping, even making water balloons and throwing them, and so much more! Whenever I think of someplace else I rather be with Jason and Tyler than at home, I throw myself a small pity party. I get so sad knowing that once the baby comes, it will be hard for me to give Tyler ALL my attention and that I really wanted him to have as many experiences with mommy and daddy as possible before Chase comes. People reassure me that Tyler will never know the difference. But, the thing is, I know and it makes me sad.
