I'm trying to plan a little vacation for our family the last week of June but I have NO idea where to go! Can you please help me?! Do you know of a cool, kid friendly place in California? We've been to SFand SD. We went to Yosemite last summer and I swore I would never go back. Any hidden places that you know of? If not, we might end up either going to SF again or having another "staycation!" I even thought of getting a hotel in LA so we could be "tourists" in LA... and go to LA Natural History Museum, Getty, etc.... but that wouldn't be fun (for me!) at all! Any ideas?

how about hearst castle, carmel, monterrey, pismo beach? (you can actually camp out at pismo beach!) all those places are so pretty. you guys can drive up pch...so beautiful!
Lake Arrowhead? Cooler weather to get away from the heat of summer. There's a children's museum up there too.
I think there's a year-round Santa's village? Lake activities, of course. Hiking. There used to be a restaurant overlooking the lake that had great brunch - flavored milk steamers, Belgian waffles, and eggs Benedict.
Monterey Aquarium and Santa Cruz Boardwalk? Being LA tourists sound fun too! La Brea Pits - is that where the dinosaurs are?
